Happy Trails
The Louisiana Colonial Trails refers to a network of scenic routes and byways threaded throughout ten Central Louisiana parishes used by pioneers to settle the west after the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. Pioneers traversed woods, rivers, streams and hills to settle the west, while others traveled from Mexico across the trails into the states to the east.

These trails through Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, Natchitoches, Rapides, Sabine and Vernon Parishes represent the terrain travelled by pioneers and are enriched with historic, cultural and scenic interest and opportunities for local and visitors alike.

We encourage virtual visitors to uncover their own experiences along the trails and take some time to appreciate our local and regional attractions. Please visit this site often, as we are just beginning construction, so we will add maps and stories and information from time to time on attractions to discover along the trails.

If you have ideas or information to contribute, please email kdelta2@kricket.net and share these with us.
